Authorship and writing guidelines

10 April 2008

Introduction

The newly located BMA Library features a Careers Zone with an updated collection of resources which support doctors' careers. It includes style guides, writing guides, and statistical workbooks as well as a wealth of other resources which can be browsed in our comfortable new library. A selection of these books is given below but BMA members who need guidance in this area should contact the library or browse the collection at our online catalogue.

The uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals are issued periodically by the International Committee of medical journal editors. They are often called the Vancouver Group because they first met informally in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The latest version is an October 2004 update.
