This web resource has been designed and written as a 'portal website': a technical resource acting as a hub of information for the medical profession interested in health and ageing. Produced by the Science and Education department of the BMA.

The committee monitors policy and service trends in community care, and advises on the resolution of problems at the interface of primary and secondary health care and social care. They aim to identify unmet areas of need, and promote new approaches to care.

The AGS is a non-profit organisation of health care providers dedicated to improving the health and well being of older adults. The site contains publications including the American Geriatrics Society's Complete Guide To Ageing And Health, which is aimed at a lay audience, details of the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, and access to the Society's guidelines, position statements and recommendations

Merck manual of geriatrics
A searchable online version of the Merck manual of geriatrics, aimed at health professionals and covering medical problems of the elderly. In addition, the Merck manual of health and ageing is to be published in 2004. This aims to provide information on ageing and the care of older people in words understandable by the lay public.
