Northern Ireland Assembly Health Committee update

In the Northern Ireland Assembly the actions, policies and strategies of the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety are scrutinised by the Health, Social Services and Public Safety Statutory Committee.
The Health, Social Services and Public Safety Statutory Committee was established to advise and assist the Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety in the formulation of policy in respect of matters within the Minister’s responsibilities and to perform other functions such as:
- Policy development
- Scrutinisation
- Consultative role with respect to the Minister of Health
The Health Committee consists of the following Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA):

The Health Committee would usually meet every Thursday afternoon with both Public and Private sessions taking place.
